No, Gore left the door open. Enough homosexuals voted for Bush in Florida to have swung the election. Why not a gay dolchstosslegende? Also, you know, his brother was governor and there were some voting irregularities.

Gore dropped the ball because he not only let it get that close but he let it get that close in a state where the vote counters were Republican.

Gore had a piss poor business strategy (Run as far to the Right as you can! Don't talk about your accomplishments, they are too far outside the mainstream! Be mushy and indistinct!). When his business tanked, rather than engage in some serious introspection after it was over, Gore and the Democratic establishment decided to blame the nearest visible minority they could. Since they couldn't find a proper dog-whistle, they did was people have always done, they invented a new "out-group" to demonize.

Nader didn't steal your car. You ran a sure-thing business to the ground and had to sell your car to Bush. But it isn't your fault, all the damned Naders are living high off the hog on the government dole while you suffer.

This is a country with horrible gerrymandering and we need Democratic presidents at least until we have five liberals on the Supreme Court to undo it. Vote the obvious.

Right now the obvious is named Hillary Clinton. Vote for Hillary. If she dies or goes to jail or gets drafted by the Broncos or something, the obvious is likely to be named Kristen Gillibrand, or Jerry Brown, or...well, not Martin O'Malley. Vote for whoever that obvious is. Bernie's chances, regardless of whether the obvious is Clinton, are crap, because he's not a Democrat. He can't say the party is not liberal enough and corrupted by campaign donations for twenty years and then show up and demand the presidential nomination just because it's convenient for him to be a Democrat now. There's no one who actually works in the party that wants to watch President Sanders become the first sitting president since Tyler to flip parties on the job. It says a lot about how the party feels that the only declared alternatives to the obvious are the self-declared Socialist and a moderate Republican who got chased out of the GOP and wishes he was home.

Yes, Sanders is a great guy, I like him too, but he should have been working on being president for longer than a month if he really wants the job. He's not the obvious choice unless the rest of the Democratic leadership dies like in the first few minutes of King Ralph. I don't want him running if it's going to distract from getting the Democrat elected past all the gerrymandering. Truth be told, I don't want him to be president.

I want him to be the next Supreme Court justice. He'd have the job for life and would never have to campaign again, and would do a lot more work than any president can.

This is just precious

Okay so not only are we not allowed to vote third party, we're also not allowed to vote for more liberal candidates in primaries. Good to know!

We are also forbidden from criticizing important Democrats because it might cause other Democrats to falter. But don't worry! Once we've achieved True Communism Centrism, we can then vigorously voice our concerns, at which time it will be properly pointed out that if we didn't like the way things were going, we should have spoken up earlier.

It will be glorious.

Because if you sand off all the obvious, you run the risk of a "Hillary is 44!" movement when Bernie loses, or have the Greens pick him up and he becomes the new Nader. Plus, elections here are now like football fans, endless screaming back and forth with undecideds wanting to vote for the winner regardless of who it is. Right now the Democrats are the "obvious" winner and can potentially depress votes for Republicans and maybe get some coattails going. If there's "dissatisfaction among liberals" about the nominee and Clinton is "not inevitably going to be president," downticket pickups will likely evaporate.

He said in no uncertain terms he isn't going to run if it isn't on the democratic ticket, shhhhhhh little man, stop thinking about this stuff.
