As biotech gets more advanced and engineering destructive bugs gets easier, someone will (intentionally or not) wipe out most of the human race along with civilization as we know it.

Cold War is over, man. It's unlikely anyone is going to sling around enough nukes to end human civilization (maybe a few though). Biological weapons, on the other hand, are self-perpetuating. You will die through boils and oozing.
