With the draft and free agency over, teams are more or less settled into their 2015 rosters. The last two weeks of May and early part of June features the annual OTAs (organized team activities) and minicamps, in case you can't get enough of fat guys running around in shorts (or are just sick of hearing about Ballghazi). The OTAs probably won't be too exciting for casual NFL fans, but this is still an important part of the calendar. New coaches get their first chance to work with players on the practice field and implement their schemes. Rookies and veterans will be mingling for the first time. Contract/franchise tag holdouts will be skipping the whole thing because gently caress you, I'm on vacation and I'll show up when I feel like it, And, of course, there are the inevitable crippling injuries to look out for. The ACL Plague has already ravaged rookie minicamps, claiming Dante Fowler and Jeff Heuerman among its latest victims. Who's going to fall next? (Probably Sean Lee again) So don't expect much actual news outside of the injuries and "BEST SHAPE OF HIS LIFE" tweets from beat writers who are as bored as we are. Here's the team-by-team schedule. he's done @TomRock_Newsday: Am told Will Beatty just went in for surgery on torn pec at HSS. Recovery said to be 5 months. That's back on the field around November. In Giant land 5 months equals 10 months. Like I said in the other thread, the Giants making an early claim on breaking the NFL record for injuries for the third year running. The best player on a dogshit OL already out before OTAs even begin.

The Chiefs OTAs started as well. Derrick Johnson and Mike DeVito apparently look good coming back from Achilles tears. So far so good with them. The offensive line is going to be drastically different (as we knew), with likely 4 new starters on the line from last years squad. The only returning guy at the same spot is Eric Fisher. Alex Smith supposedly threw a 40 yard in stride pass to Maclin. Here's to hoping we open things up when guys can actually get separation. Eric Berry is done with lymphoma treatments and is waiting to hear results from the doctors. Hopefully we'll hear more soon.
