When a man lies he murders some part of the world. These are the pale deaths which men miscall their lives. All this I cannot bear to witness any longer. Cannot the kingdom of salvation take me home?

Suddenly Federer's life is hard. He's gotta play three days in a row assuming he even gets by Monfils tomorrow.

No? For his side of the draw, it's every other day and then 2 days off before the final.

His match today won't finish till tomorrow. He shouldn't get a day off before his quarter against Wawrinka right?

He won't. For some reason, I was counting tomorrow, the day after, and the round after that.

But yeah, today, tomorrow, and then next round would be 3 days in a row, though I'm not sure you could call today's 2 sets more than a practice session.

She should've stayed away from Safarova's lefty forehand, she kept getting punished there. Good start to the day.

edit: Christ, the break did not do Monfils good, he looks completely lost out there at the moment.

Earlier we had a typical Monfils match, and now we just had a typical Kvitova match. So much talent being wasted. Kvitova played crazy today and yet is now ranked #2 in the world!

Happy for Bacsinszky, she's been through a lot of poo poo.

With Kvitova out, I don't think anyone can stop Serena from winning. I don't think Muguruza can upset her again, and Ivanovic is always a bad bet.

I agree. My last hope was Kvitova, Serena got this now. She might be a little tired mentally after all these 3 set matches though :)

Serena can lose to just about anyone if she plays poorly. And if she plays regular than she'd slaughter Kvitova anyways.

So I missed Sloane Stephens' matches. Can anyone describe her playing style? Grind it out from the baseline? Serve and volley? What?

I saw that she'd beaten Venus and then Serena avenged her sister.

That was an excellent tiebreak from Safarova. It sucks that they're basically playing for the right to lose to Serena, though. I figure Muguruza has the best chance against her in the final but even that is a massive long shot.

edit: What are you doing Nishikori. He's terrible out there at the moment.

A big chunk of metal came off of one of the screens in the corner and fell into the crowd. I don't think anyone was seriously injured, fortunately.

edit: Yikes.

The way they're playing it'll be a miracle if Nadal somehow manages to win even a set. This should've been a breezy 6-2 6-3 or something by now.
