i'm imagining your dad as joe biden, cheap beers in hand, going through one an hour, like clockwork, jabbing his finger towards the TV when he wants to make a point, have a dry cackling laughter, never actually waiting for your input or any sort of reaction. what he's doing is an education, and you can be there for the ride if you want to, but the truth is it's a good enough movie and he's having a good enough time he absolutely does not need you to be there

he then stands up, looks you in the eye, and leaves the house. he dies out there. like a dog who knows it's time to go. he went out there after doing one last thing he likes, and he shared it with you, and you're so loving dumb and lovely you can't begin to appreciate what had just happened. so you post this thread on SA.
