Had anyone seen Gomorrah? Movie was really good but depressing af. I wrote a big paper contrasting it with scarface as the portrayal of organized crime in American pop culture vs Italian neo-realism

Edit: I was wrong I forgot it was actually Italian neo-neo-realism which I thought was a hilarious title because it makes no sense but that is film school for ya

Yea I saw it. Them badass teen dudes got it good lol.

My guess is he was a complete lunatic and she left him.

It really is also that only hot young actresses tend to fall for it. If you watch one of the trailers for that JJ Abrams flick Super 8 there's a moment where the child protagonist is applying makeup to his friend/lead actress in a homemade monster movie he's making, and they pause and realize sexual tension, and that's a good visual summation of what happens-- a pretty young girl is fawned over by a passionate, intelligent, articulate, authoritative man with status and sparks fly. But girls get older and directors get bored and find new actresses, and as the girls become women they start to realize that while it's fun it's also kind-of a youthful dalliance and not a good foundation for a long-term relationship.
