Well I'm pretty sure Nomi didn't hallucinate Amanita because we're a little bit in Amanita's POV as well for that scene (the nurse keeping an eye on her phone time). But if she's lying about the picture, that begs the question: how does she know about Jonas?

Jonas was there to make the eye to eye connection so he could 'visit' I think.

Does it pick up after episode 1? cause I forgot half the storylines already and I'm not sure what's the main story supposed to be. Is this going to be a lost style "focus on one character per episode" thing?

No it cuts between all the characters really quickly.

What needs to be added to the OP is that Sun is the best character hands down.
The scene in E3 where she puts a hole through her dad's assistant's desk gave me chills. She is the one they need to step into the most often.

Capheus is also a standout considering the poo poo he has to go through to protect his mother and his very 'upbeat' attitude in dealing with it all. I'd say Nomi was definitely the "director's pet", with Will and Riley following after. They're not bad, mind you, just that they got a much larger share of screen time than the other people.

At first I was a bit hesitant at the show considering how slowly they were meeting, but it definitely picked up.

Now, in case you were wondering about the ratings it's getting, the people who love the show, love it because of its sci-fi character drama. The people who hate it however are usually like this:

Yep. And don't think I'm kidding if you are a skeptic. Look at all the low-star reviews and the main thread they have in common is "too much g@y stuff". It's great

I just was looking at those, and it makes me so sad. I'm a 50 year old het white dude who grew up in the south and I thought the EP2:Lito and Hernando romance was one of the sweetest and most natural things. EPat least 7:The scene where Lito tells Nomi about his first meeting at the museum was goddamn inspiring. I really feel sorry for those reviewers.

It actually has some really well done action too, but it is absolutely a character driven piece and all the characters and their friends (and enemies) are fantastic.

I actually don't have a problem with that per-se. I actually come to like Jamie Clayton for instance via this series. Given that the Wachowski's are involved, I expected some story points in that regard, but things like the soaking wet dildo scene (or cheesy sex scenes in general) or the mom with comicbook villain-style ignorance were kind of blunt hits over the head that could have been toned down. A lot.

I know a mom with that level of comicbook villain-style ignorance.

Mari was a good friend of mine who had the sad misfortune to A) have Helen as her mother, and B) be born in the wrong gender for her mind. She left home at sixteen, scimped and saved and went to all the counseling and was on the waiting list for the surgery and found a wonderful boyfriend and all was happy until she was in a car accident. The state she lived in at the time refused to recognize her gender as female and Dave as her family. Instead insisting that her name was Mark and that Helen was the only person who could hold power of attorney.

Helen insisted that Dave had brainwashed her and that she would need to be taken to a 'specialist' in these kinds of mental aberrations (electro convulsive therapy was on the table for example). It took a lawsuit and a fuckton of money to pry Mari free. That level of monomaniacal ignorance is loving real. Helen was not a Jesus freak or uneducated. She just could not comprehend that she had had a daughter in a male body and not a son. She was positive that Mari was damaged and sick and needed to be 'cured'.

Helen died a few years ago still cursing my and Dave's names for 'corrupting' her 'son'. I just helped find and pay for the lawyer.

I've actually been holding off on watching the last episode of the first season due to catching the spoilers about its ending. I loving hate cliffhangers to drop and having to wait for a year for the resolution, so that was the best spoiler ever for me.

True, though it is kind of an incentive for him to become a kingpin so he'd have henchmen he could send on missions like that.

And tying Sun's financial expertise, Nomi's hacking, and Lito's people skills in would make Wolfgang an absolutely terrifying mob boss.
