Once they jacked the price up from $2.25 to $2.99 for the non premium titles you should've severed. $3.99 for a comic book, with a minor comic shop discount? I don't think so! I've now moved on from comic collecting to full time drinking myself; mostly drink due to depression over the fact I collected comic books.

Modern comics are pretty lovely all around. just a bunch of writers fighting to see who can be the most progressive, and even as a left leaning dude it's super loving dumb to watch them all fight on twitter about who can turn Hero X in to the biggest multicultural non-cis character. That said none of them will be beat 1960's batman for being a gay pedophile in to BDSM and Cosplay

I love comics, I'm not poor, but gently caress comic book pricing. Once I started actually budgeting in my life I couldn't rationalize spending that much per month on a very limited and honestly lame hobby.

I learned if you stop reading lovely comics you'll save a lot of money cause sometimes you'll got months or whole years before a good comic comes out. But if you're reading the latest issue of how Joker kidnapped Mary Jane and now Rick Grimes has to save her for the umptheenth time that year you deserve to lose every penny
