This was the first Fire Emblem I played, fond memories of an incomplete translation patch and trying to figure out the most overpowered kids. I remember there being some sword attack in the intro that I could never figure out how to do.

It's dumb to not actually translate things like Valhalla/Yggdrasil/Naoise and all the other actual Norse/Irish names in a game with Sigurd/Beowulf/Gae Bolg etc.

What part of it makes you confused? "Fate" is more or less predetermined poo poo you can't change. It's basically how you normally say something like "it can't be helped" in English. I think the line "as fate'll have it" is a quite good way to convey that he's not too pleased with the order, but it is still an order.

Nah, no one says it and it sounds incredibly clunky, more like it was down to random luck of the draw.
