Im pretty sure the loaned the site/tracker code out to a bunch of people who then help host the site independantly across the world. Also they've switched new torrents to the magnet format so you don't even have to download .torrent files from their servers, it's just like a hash code you click and your client reads now

Doesn't seem like much to me but some of these people are fairly popular and whenever it is two in the morning and a favorite show hasn't been uploaded since airtime yet the people involved get awfully sad. If you have never seen a candlelight vigil held in the comments section of a streaming site I heartily recommend it.
