Flavivirus posted:After a few years of graft and the support of friends, family, and kickstarter backers Legacy: Life Among the Ruins is now finished! It seems to be doing well on Drivethru. I'm interested in a game that allows "Mages" or whatever they might be called to start picking at the fabric of reality, confronting hubris and obsession in the search for power. Nope. But you know what would make an awesome AW Mage-like game? Secret World. The magic system would have to be done from scratch, sure, but the lore is so good. It even already has playbooks, kinda.

"I don't care about balance" when coming from the designer. (Looking at you, MotW.) Speaking of which, it seems the consensus is Tremulus is less than great. Can anyone who put some hours into it explain why? I've only read it and didn't notice any obvious flaws.

thelazyblank posted:This does explain a lot about MotW, which feels like more of a disappointment rather than a truly terrible game. It was a book that helped me grasp onto the concept of a lot of PbtA ideas, but the actual mechanical balance is a giant mess. When did he say this? I no longer recall, I'm afraid.

You can get an early draft of the Kill Six Billion Demons rpg if you support his Patreon, I suppose?

That's, uh, a good question. Kill Six Billion Demons is a game of extraordinary and powerful wuxia beings and their struggle in the ruins of a multiverse inhabited by thousands of races and cultures and ruled by seven tyrant demiurges. It mixes the insanity of french comics and heavy metal covers with hinduist and gnostic mythology.

PBTA games still get recruits every week or so, just not DW anymore. As a sidenote, I wish someone would run a PBTA Roll20 game in eurotime. Any of them. I just want to RP in real time with someone.

I personally find the sex moves obnoxious (and I am sure you will soon be inundated by people who argue otherwise) but they are a very minor part of the game. It's, like, one paragraph on each sheet. Just sharpie it out if you're worried, I guess.

I think the artists' daily gigs are drawing perv porn. That said, I... actually like the art style, as long the rest of the illustrations that they don't show aren't furry dickgirls. There are some huge-boobed cheesecake, but most of it is just colorful, with a lot of personality.

Some Frenchmen are making a game based on Jack Vance's Tschai novels (or, rather, their comicbook adaptations?): https://www.ulule.com/tschai/ It's already funded several times over, Jack Vance is awesome and the art is kinda dope, but it *is* based on Dungeon World, which I am rather tired of.

ConanThe3rd posted:So, thoughts, opinions, calling me a weeb dork, anything? Well, first of all, it should be legal to hunt scum like you in the streets for sport, obviously. Second, Masks is more of a angsty teen relationship game that also has superpowers, Worlds in Peril is, from what I've heard, a bit unpolished. You could also take a look at City of Mist, that's also a PbtA about superpowereds.
