I'm listening to the wall and kinda drunk and I have to say it's a pretty loving solid album. Mother is top notch. It's not their best and I consider Floyd to be dad rock as gently caress but going back to the classics doesn't hurt anyone. Been a while since a Floyd thread so let's do it again. So let's talk some Floyd. Again. poo poo Young Lust just kicked in gently caress yeah.

Great, top 5 band of all time but I think it's a testament to how good the drugs must have been in the 1960s that Piper at the Gates of Dawn is regarded as a "good" album, and not an utter piece of crap.

Animals is really dark, almost as bad as The Wall but with less accessible songs. I mean, it's good but The Wall beats it for that reason. Also DSOTM being their best is objective fact.

They were a great mainstream band to get into in High School and then jump off into better experimental/psychedelic/progressive rock as long as I never went back.

I really like Pink Floyd. I liked them a lot more when I was younger and thought of them as geniuses as is somewhat normal for late high school early college age kids. But then I grew wise and put them in my list as good music. Somewhat visionary. But I moved on and met the Beatles and the really amazing Pet Sounds by The Beach Boys. They made some solid stuff but a lot of the early stuff is just noise. That said, I still love the entire Atom Heart Mother album.
