Empty Spaces' transition into Young Lust owns bones too. I'm sorry the movie is pretty much garbage though. I think part of my general dislike for the album before I listened to it last night were the memories of that junk.

I always skip Not Now John when listening to it because it's weird and poppy and upbeat and really breaks the flow of things. Echoes is easily their greatest ever by a gigantic margin.

and yeah, Empty Spaces/Young Lust is one of the handful of song pairs where when they play the latter song on the radio without the former I get pissed. Like when they play "You Really Got Me" without Eruption, or "A little help from my friends" without SGt. Pepper's. I'd include "Heartbreaker/Livin' Lovin Maid," except Heartbreaker is hands down the best LZ song so they never forget to play it.

And while we're talking about drug-rock opuses (opi?) my wife and I consider this to be "our song" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rEZH0t5Yozw See, she was pregnant with twins AND a basketball sized fibroid tumor. So thing were constantly stressful. One day, we drove to the hospital for her daily examination and this song came on that same station that plays all the long Pink Floyd songs. It's the only time we remember being relaxed during the entire pregnancy, and the song NEVER ENDED. Plus, I smoked a bowl beforehand so, yeah. Good song. The funky organ part of echoes was used as the background music for the ads on my favorite classic rock station for a while though. Then again, I was once listening to that station at like 3:30 AM while doing some late night analyses and they played all 45 minutes of Thick as A Brick, which was a nice surprise Mak0rz fucked around with this message at 03:56 on Jun 28, 2015 |

Animals is their best album if you're going to listen through an entire album rather than pick and choose different songs. Dark Side of the Moon & The Wall are the albums most people hear first by them nowadays. Wish You Were Here is good but overplayed as heck. Meddle is p drat good. Everything after The Wall sounds like corny 80s stuff imo Their early stuff is pretty far out there and includes a lot of noise music. Pink Floyd is a good band.
