Kung Fu Hustle was legit funny. His earlier work, from 1990-2001 was also legit funny. CJ7 was okay, but I'm disappointed that Chow hasn't written or acted in anything since, and I've never heard why.

He tried to break into Western cinema but the most that ever came of it was his producer credit on the lovely live-action American Dragonball movie. At one point he was gonna play Kato in the Seth Rogen Green Hornet movie and direct it but he wound up backing out. Now he's getting too old to play leading roles anymore which is why the lead in Journey to the West was played by somebody else and he just directed it.
