gently caress, that finale was a little heartbreaking. Pretty much all of my formative years were spent with a small thought somewhere in my brain of "Oh, I wonder what Jon will say about [news event]," and it was genuinely sad to feel that come to an end. Epic last show though, and it was fun to have watched a lot of the old shows throughout the last month and then see the aged versions of long-past correspondents pop up during the finale's first segment.

Couldn't have said it better myself. Jon's been making sense of all this mess for half my life now.

^^ That's excellent.

I spent the past six weeks editing the schedule spreadsheet. This thread's awesome and sorta makes me feel like I did something worthwhile with my spare time. Cheers, guys.
You did that? Thanks man. I lived and died by the schedule you provided.

I vividly recall being especially excited to see that night's Daily Show the moment I first read Dick Cheney shot someone in the face.

They then exceeded my expectations.

Thanks!

I figure I'll post some of my TDS images and gifs I already have on my imgur account from the past few years:

While I'm at it, here's some old The Colbert Report stuff:

Edit: Here's a bunch more TDS images I've saved that weren't uploaded by me but still have working imgur urls:

My absolute favorite part of the finale, and it no poo poo brought a little tear to my eye, was Colbert's comment about being the son of a poor Appalachian turd miner, because that's always been one of my favorite bits and a running joke between my mother and I for ten years.

His father's father was a goat ball licker
