Epic last show though, and it was fun to have watched a lot of the old shows throughout the last month and then see the aged versions of long-past correspondents pop up during the finale's first segment. Couldn't have said it better myself. Jon's been making sense of all this mess for half my life now.

I vividly recall being especially excited to see that night's Daily Show the moment I first read Dick Cheney shot someone in the face. They then exceeded my expectations.

My absolute favorite part of the finale, and it no poo poo brought a little tear to my eye, was Colbert's comment about being the son of a poor Appalachian turd miner, because that's always been one of my favorite bits and a running joke between my mother and I for ten years. His father's father was a goat ball licker
