yes it was op. mortenson did a truly amazing job imitating the physical movements and verbal tics of an immigrant slav and imo deserved the oscar more than daniel-day lewis that year even though there will be blood was obviously the better film overall. vincent cassel was also excellent. naomi watts was basically dead weight but she usually is so
