Your next steps are: Sitting down with your wife and figuring out your financial and life goals (including things like having children/having college funds, planned car purchases, vacations, and retirement most of all). Identifying how much money you spend in a pay period and what you spend it on. I cannot emphasize enough you need to sit down and have calm conversations with your wife.

Ok. Regarding retirement planning: when? Work until you qualify for the full social security benefit? Retire with the partial benefit? retire early and use savings to cover you until you claim benefits? What's your planned retirement lifestyle like? Lots of travel? will it be more or less expensive than the life you lead now? Where will you live?
