Send me an SSD and I can. If we're going to have NSA and CIA type discussions in here, I want them loaded into my eyeballs as fast as loving possible.

I assumed if I sent you $80, you were like some kind of electronics genie and I"d get http://www.amazon.com/Samsung-2-5-I...36%3A1253507011 or http://www.amazon.com/ASUS-STRIX-GT...in%3A6147184011 wtf is this rip off stuff, Dog House. (Btw I had no idea solid states were that cheap now, I'll probably have to convince myself its worth it to move a lot of data over now and reinstall Windows.)

Wow, kids, depending on what your mobo is capable of, having 2 ssd's and whatever many tb of platter storage is really a good way to go. 1 small ssd for os, pop your documents/whatever on another drive and symlink them. 1 larger ssd for your games & or editing programs. whatever else on platters, for music, films, archives, etc.

I hate being a huge loser with my HDDs. This thread has had some sick cases and some good info, but its also made me feel incredibly inadequate as a man, a person, a goon, and a gamer for not having an SSD. Heading to E/N, thanks assholes.

I like privacy but so what if the government knows everything is it really THAT big of a deal? If you aren't doing anything wrong then you should have NOTHING to worry about.

Jastiger it's fine to have a spinning disk, people who say you shouldn't have any are loving idiots with nothing of any value to store in the long term, apparently, seeing as SSDs are nowhere near as shelf-stable

i go back and forth between 'so what' and 'eeehhhhh idk if I like the state having that much control' but in general I feel like whatever it's happening there's nothing you can do about it and besides that the whole thing is probably run by incompetent buffoons just like every other thing in existence and barring an actual artificial intelligence sorting through all the data I just don't believe you can effectively monitor the goings on of the entire population like that.
