How does incentives making runs tougher/longer interact with the schedule?
Cause the DS2 incentive could be pretty time-consuming...I know two experienced DS1 runners tried it on a whim during Dreamhack for that game and it took more than twice the time a regular run would (~1:25 normal, 2:58 challenge), and the schedule doesn't seem to accomodate that kinda time-loss.

Pity they're not running Demon's Souls, I've never seen that one speedrun and I've enjoyed speedruns of the other Souls games.

Hahaha the first guy explaining what speedrunning the game is about in nice and coherent manner, hands off to someone else so he can focus, other dude literally just starts spouting random facts about it without rhyme or reason like it's a list in the manual.

They're not really commenting on much, I can't tell if its because they have nothing to say or because Trihex really wants to comment on his entire 3h run.

Judging by their performance so far he's probably realized they sounds awkward as gently caress if they don't have something specific to say and he's better off driving the commentary himself and waiting for them to pipe up with something actually relevant rather than waffling nonsense.

Disappointed that they're doing Dark Souls 2 instead of Bloodborne. Or any Platinum game that I can see at first glance. Or even general character action game speed runs.

Maybe nobody felt up for running Bloodborne so soon? I know some *Souls speedrunner regulars got bored of speedrunning Bloodborne too so it might just have been unfortunate timing. I'm sure it'll get run next *GDQ.

The WR-holder in Demon's Souls offered to run that but was refused apparently, which sucks.

I mean I'd rather watch the funny runners or games I really like speedrun, but I was more entertained by this trainwreck than by most of the boring stuff they show.

Admittedly it would help if the trainwreck seemed less mentally unstable.

Can you really speedrun the main ones much though? I mean you can do stages faster than average I guess but for the most part wouldn't it be near-indistinguishable from a high-score run?

Last 2 players 1 controller run of a Souls game I saw took 3 hours for a shorter game so I wish them luck in sticking with the schedule. These guys probably have some experience with this kinda run though.

See, this is the kinda stuff I was expecting from a 2 person 1 controller run. They've done great so far but this estimate could be veeery optimistic if this is a reasonably common occurrence.

On the plus side this is NG++ health and damage so most bosses won't be nearly as punishing.

The Demon's Souls WR holder asked to run this time but was turned down, sadly. I've never seen Demon's Souls run so I guess I'll just have to hope it gets in at another time.
