its a good form factor. the problem is probably expansion cards, since theyre usually 'tall' so you end up with expensive specialized components and theres no money in pcs anymore soo

i've actually seen lenovo mini desktops in that form factor as recently as last year but those were laptop guts i bet

i have a 12" macbook and i think the computer is soemwhere inside the keyboard idk and size doesnt matter so im not at all intemidiat d by snieps large imac
