So I quit

It has some cool cutscene story stuff about the brutality of war but also no consistency in keeping that tone. Some of the characters play really well and some of them are busted jank. If you want to play it, the HD release is the worse version since it has overdone motion blur and is kind of half-assed all around.

Western Final Fantasy fans overhyped the hell out of Type-0 because it was never available in the West until this year and all knowledge was either second hand or from an ongoing fan translation project, but when it finally arrived it revealed itself to be a somewhat mediocre game, afaik.

The guy who uses knuckles as his weapon is one of the most fun brawler-style characters i have played, outside of games like god hand that are dedicated entirely to being a punching brawler guy. Once he levels up some (like after one or two missions, its fast), he gets combat style skills with a bunch of different attack variations for each style, while almost everybody else in the cast just gets a couple of really straightforward special moves or spells. Thats maybe the worst thing about the gameplay is that a character can only equip like two or three skills at once for a mission, even if they can learn a shitload more than that. Its also what makes the brawler guy the most playable because each of his stance skills is four or five moves in one.

i mean it wasnt that bad of a game actually but its not good enough to really buy once, so 2x is esp. ridic. i liked the heavy mace schoolgirl and the card guy and the shotgun guy

i found it quite shocking how brutal and graphic the opening was with some magical twink and his chocofriend getting shot repeatedly and just dying slowly over 10 mins of cutscene, that was good i guess

One thing is that like, when you do the red reticle lock in and just instantly kill it feels like all the moves your chars learrn dont really matter. Also if anyone wants to give me the dota items I would like that.

Type 0 is okay except for the HP bloat and the way the request system is geared towards new game+++++++. Being able to send some of those 14 good-for-nothings to do requests, FFT style, would make it so much better. Having a large character roster is really cool though (I wish more RPGs did that), and I do appreciate its being one of Squeenix's more "experimental" titles.

Yeah its okay, its a 4-year old PSP game they spitshined for PS4 and it shows. Had some really cool ideas, did some okay things, and the last act is basically Xenogears. I didn't have any qualms with it besides that really terrible voice acting, which is so bad I think I believe the rumor that Square localized this poo poo years ago and just now used what they had.
