My favorite track on The Nylon Curtain (other than Pressure) is called Laura. Is so freaking Beatles-esque and it's so goddamn pissed off. Imagine 11-12 y.o. me hearing Billy drop an F-bomb (see 02:01) over such a gorgeous chord progression. It's one of two songs on that album that references electric chairs. How many B.J. songs have electric chair references? I'm pretty sure it's more than two. Anyway, check out the 4/4 into kickass triplet-feel. Great composition and so much frustration. But my list of favorites includes stuff like Big Shot (ooo, take that Mick Jagger's conceited wife!), Honesty (gorgeous song), Anthony's Song - Movin' Out (at least up until the stupid motorcycle poo poo), Lots of songs off Nylon Curtain (Allentown, Pressure, Goodnight Saigon, Laura, etc.), My Life (is that the name?), Still Rock n Roll to Me, and other stuff from that era. He gets a bad rap, but to be fair I can't stand to listen to Uptown Girl, either. Or We Didn't Start The Fire, or much of anything after that phase, especially when he started playing guitar.
