Chichevache posted:Yup, and for a lot longer. They're stuck with him for at least two more coaching changes. This is wrong. If they feel the need, they can cut Kap any offseason from here on out and not be on the hook for a dime of his remaining contract. His "guaranteed" money is only for a single season at a time, and is dependent on him being on the roster after a certain (June something) date.

Not even gonna lie and pretend to "not toot my own horn." Just saying my predictions back in June about the Seahawks are pretty close to what's happened so far. http://forums.somethingawful.com/showthread.php?threadid=3723514&pagenumber=8&perpage=40#post446122849 quote:So the more I think about it the, more I realize that the Cam Newton signing is Carolina realizing if they can’t beat the Seahawks on the field, they might as well try to break them financially. No Carolina isn’t a shoo in to go to the bowl if Seattle stumbles, but they always have Carolina’s number, and could be doing the rest of the league a favor, other than the Eagles, Redskins, Cardinals, and Colts who are all about to get hosed by Cam’s contract.

I think it's been definitively proven this offseason that Chip Kelly is a racist monster, a perfect fit for a racist city like Philadelphia. OH, if only some Ray of tolerance could break through the dark, Tensing, cloud of hate and prejudice that blankets the area. Since I guess that won't happen I can only hope that one day we will learn to be as accepting as other, nearby cities.

A Man and his dog posted:He's given patience with Allen. Then realized he had no loving clue how to evaluate talent and only run the "winning off the field!" bullshit. Isn't Allen a good 'ol boy type for Snyder? Snyder seems to give his favorites all kind of slack but freak s the poo poo out on everyone else. The whole "stay the gently caress out of things and let people do their jobs" probably would be a good start. Beer4TheBeerGod posted:McCloughan is the only thing the Redskins haven't tried yet; hiring a dedicated General Manager. Before him all personnel decisions in the Snyder era were either made by someone with another job (head coaches, Bruce Allen), or Vinny "Kindergarten Ninja" Cerrato. I told myself that the only way I would stay a Redskins fan is if they hired a dedicated GM, and here we are. This year will be a shitshow. Next year will be a shitshow. The year after that we might not suck, but it would require Snyder to actually have patience and not treat Washington like a redraft fantasy football team. I'm fascinated to see how things work out...the defense might be OK if the secondary doesn't blow (hard to be worse than last year) and the offensive line will probably still be bad but maybe not as bad as last year (no matter how good Scherff might end up being, he's not gonna be good in his rookie year, just too much to learn and it hardly ever happens right away). Maybe that's too optimistic though. I think the best you can hope for is some individuals looking good and working on building around those guys in coming years before they're too old and injured

Levitate posted:Isn't Allen a good 'ol boy type for Snyder? Yeah Allen is definitely one of Snyder's guys. And Gruden was hired because of that relationship IMO; him and Allen go back to Tampa. It's also the reason I suspect Haslett wasn't fired until this year. Shanahan was supposed to be the starting point where Snyder hosed off and let the pros do their job, but he couldn't keep his nose out of RG3's jockstrap. My favorite rumor is that Shanahan wanted Tannehill and would have preferred not to trade up. Between that and the salary cap getting hosed there was no way anyone could have succeeded. My guess is that our new GM is going to build a foundation, Gruden and RG3 will be distant memories in three years, and whoever replaces both of them will have the best shot anyone has had at not sucking in a decade.
