 What is Hard Knocks? Hard Knocks is an annual HBO miniseries documentary about one NFL team from the start of training camp all the way through the preseason. The focus is usually on the incoming rookie class, though they will also focus on veterans struggling to earn a place on the roster. We're now in season 10! This year's season features my team, the Houston Texans. Coming off a 9-7 season, a combination of hope and doubt swirls around this team's potential come the 2015 campaign. Come and talk with me and the posters with J.J. Watt avatars about how the Texans' future refuses to change. The show premiers Tuesday, August 11 and runs for five weeks. The Cast of Characters  Ryan Mallett as "Option A" Mallett started one game as a Texan before he got hurt. Then he started another game. Some people say he sucks.  Brian Hoyer as "Option B" Everyone agrees Hoyer got a raw deal in Cleveland. Some people say he sucks.  J.J. Watt as "The Franchise Face" You know who this guy is.  Jadeveon Clowney as "The Comeback Kid" Injured for most of last year, the 2014 No. 1 draft pick is on the PUP list for the start of training camp. Can he get healthy enough to make an impact on the defense?  Arian Foster as "The Guru" The smartest man in the locker room, at least in his own mind. Has never not peed in a hot tub.  DeAndre Hopkins as "The Heir Apparent" De facto top WR. Had a breakout 2014.  Vince Wilfork as "The Big Guy" The newly signed NT looks to improve an already beastly defense.  Bill O'Brien as Himself Led the Texans to a 9-7 record in his first season as HC. Impossible to draw a caricature of.  Rick Smith as "The Guy Who Isn't Charley Casserly, Thank God" General Manager of the Texans since the year after the first time we went 2-14. Drafted Watt with the 11th overall pick in 2011, and that alone has allowed him some leeway. How Can I Watch Hard Knocks? HBO, HBO Go, and HBO Now will carry the show in the United States. The NFL Network will occasionally rebroadcast old episodes, but the Falcons season just started showing up, so you won't see the Texans until next year. Should be a decent season. The 2 minutes of Watt last year was the best part of the entire Falcons season.
