In Maple Story I sold a lvl110 xbow that was like -2 atk for $150 just because it was the first one on the server. I gached it and I spent like $100 a month on gach tickets so it wasn't really a profit though.

I bought a dota compendium for $10 and one of the free things it gave me was worth $15. Then the economy crashed and now it's like $6. There's a guy on these forums who makes like $20k a year selling steam items. You can't redeem them for real cash but you can buy people games with it in exchange for real cash.
