While I was getting a sandwich today, there was a millennial literally crying because he got wheat bread and when he had ordered 9-grain.

Anyone who used the internet when 56k was the fastest speed available isn't a millenial.

Being a millenial is tied to the internet.

From what I can gather it's because you see models in catalogues wearing their pants like that.
Of course they have to wear their pants like that to showcase the socks so the magazine can caption the image 'SOCKS: Warby Parker: $45.99" and I'm assuming every idiot that tried to dress themselves since thought it was a cool and obvious thing to show off your ankles and wear pants that look way too short.

were u born between the years 1980 and 2000? are you between the ages of 15 and 35? then hey guess loving what youre a millennial too!!

seriously anyone who says "its a shame that media is paying so much attention to millennials now because they have such short attention spans and are so narcissistic, unlike me who enjoys things that take effort :smug" you are an idiot.

There are two types of people who complain about millennials: 1. Old people. Out of touch relics of the past like NYT constantly complain about millennials. This isn't really a appropriate reason, but at least it's defensible--there's a precedent of older generations complaining about younger generations since the beginning of time. Sure it's stupid to hard headed resist change bc its threatening your lovely, old fashioned way of life / status quo, but at least youre not deluding yourself. This is the original source of millennial bashing.

which brings me to the second type, the real shitheads, number two if you will

These are people within the millennial demographic who bitch and whine all day about how lame millennials are. Here's a somewhat related example: If you want to go complain about how stupid 18-34 yo males are and how you wish things weren't marketed to them, go ahead. But if you are yourself in that demographic and then go out and spend your disposable income on mad max you are literally the reason that marketing is the way it is. it just worked on you. In the same vein, It's hypocritical to complain about media marketed to milennials when you go out and consume it just like everyone else.

Whats more, the strawmen of millennials that goons like to complain about were conjured by old people who are frustrated with "Todays youth". The same people who complain about entitlement programs came up with these lovely, inaccurate generalizations of an entire generation that some individuals within that generation are unironically spouting off as if they were legitimate complaints.

and heres the real kicker: these millennial individuals who complain about millennials--hereby mockllennials--are using the term millennial as a scapegoat. They are redirecting the frustration of an older generation with a younger one and using it to channel their own dissatisfaction with the mainstream. What these mockllennials are really frustrated with is not any age group, but with the purely superficial, surface level of society. To the mockllennial angry at millennials for making Kanye West and Kim Kardashian household names: yes, there are a lot of millenials that genuinely like Kanye (I am one of them!). But there are also a lot of them who don't. These fractured cultures are just as part as the millennial generation as what we see in the news and in advertising to be representative of millennial culture. Because, guess what, the people who are diagnosing and outlining "millennial behavior" are not, themselves, millennials! They are presenting to the world a flawed generalization of an entire generation, but even as a living example of someone who proves their generalizing wrong, mockllennials embrace their generalizing with a sort of self-loathing delusion.

The 60s and 70s gave rise to a strong counterculture movement. In fact, this is what we tend to remember those decades by. In order for that counterculture movement to flourish, though, there needed to be a mainstream for the antiestablishment youths to rally against. Most of the youths at the time were a part of that mainstream. Even though we remember a generation by a cultural group, that cultural group did not singly represent all of that generation. So, if you are a mockllenail, stop complaining about your generation and start enjoying the unique role that you play, or your particular cultural minority plays, in defining the culture of this generation as a whole.

tldr just chill and post some memes

"Just Chill" says the guy who cares about what millennials mock.
