I don't understand why instead of trying to start a productive dialogue with people you do dumb poo poo like this. Its not going to get people on your side, its going to annoy those who may have supported you and give ammunition to those who are against you. Like those gay guys a while back in Russia who filmed themselves wearing shirts with "Were gay, get over it" or something and holding hands. Then get they're asses beat. What did they expect? They just entrenched gays being annoying/evil in the minds of Russians a little more deeply. I lived in Northern Ireland for a few years before I moved back down south, I just saw how nothing ever got done because people were too interested in shouting each other down than actually being constructive. It irks me.

You can walk up to and charge the stage because he's a true populist and doesn't want to be seen as isolating himself from the people who support him, and he's smart enough to pick his battles and he probably knew trying to throw those protesters off the stage would end badly. Hillary Clinton literally endorsed segregation in the 60s, and has a lot more to answer for to those protesters imo, but she surrounds herself with secret service and her handlers and aides who make sure nobody who isn't supposed to can ever get close. Doing this at a republican event puts you in the same amount of danger as charging a stage with Clinton, to address an entirely hostile audience who are mostly unsympathetic to your cause at best and actively, consciously hateful and prejudiced against you at worst. So to me, of course he has agitators crashing his gigs. Someone else pointed out that it's basically standard operating procedure for leftists to pull this kind of poo poo against themselves over the slightest of ideological impurities, or prioritizing common issues in a way they disagree with. Identity politics suck. But black people probably more than anyone else in America have probably earned the right to be weary of old white men, even if Bernie isn't like most old white men.

There's no real analog to the class and religious divisions where you live, but the political atmosphere is pretty toxic here due to radicalization on the right that's led to the militarization of the police in many areas, which is worsened by rampant, institutional racism that has cops maiming and killing black people more than any other group constantly. The democrats are increasingly ineffective as the representative party for minorities, a role they've had for 50 or so years, and I suspect a lot of this rally crashing is pure frustration that nobody represents black interests very well anymore.

I disagree with a lot of posters in this thread, I think he handled it like a champ, it had a huge opportunity to blow up and make him look bad, instead he showed restraint and it leaves people little to no ammunition against him. It actually ends up making him look better the more it blows up because people who rightfully disapprove of the protester will bring up his long rear end civil rights record.
