I think Summerslam has a pretty decent card but oh my god I'm already dreading the amount of stupid padding it's going to have to make it a four-hour show plus pre-show.

It's (possibly) not actually going to be that bad. They have four hours, 240 minutes. 10 matches on the card, that's an average of 24 minutes each for promos, entrances, match, and aftermath. We know that Cena and Brock are both getting much more than that, others are probably getting less. It will feel less empty than some recent 3 hour shows they've run with like 5 or 6 matches.

Jon Stewart is going to get 20 minutes. You'll probably have an Authority promo of some sort taking another 10-15. Another 10 minutes of masturbation over SportsCenter giving them some minor coverage. I actually think despite the 4 hours, they might be tight on time. We might see a match put on the pre-show (Owens-Cesaro or the tag match seems most likely).

Well you guys made me seem like a big ol' dummy, apparently lots of people are reasonably excited! I should emphasize it's also the weekend as a whole with NXT on Saturday. And if Roman turns on Dean I will laud it as the coolest major WWE booking decision in years. And I think the show will turn out decent at absolute worst. There is literally no match on the card wrestling-wise that I'd write off as a stinker except Orton/Sheamus and even that's a chemistry thing. Booking is a question mark, but Cena becoming champ I don't love but am cool with, same with Brock/Taker ending in a Taker win, either Dean/Roman ends with them going over or the Roman turn (probably)... I'd do the Roman turn on Sunday since Summerslam is the second biggest show of the year.

I would do something else big on summerslam and just build the turn on summerslam, saving the big moment for the raw afterwards. If they want the raw after Summerslam to be a big deal like the one after Wrestlemania, they need to make it a memorable show. As it stands there's been zero build for it so would be out of nowhere and dumb. Give Roman a reason to turn first like maybe he blames Dean for losing

When someone in the business says it is fake, they are referring to the pre-determined outcomes, the characters portrayed, and the storylines that are showcased. When someone outside of the business calls it fake, they're claiming that the ring is padded like soft fluffy pillows, the dangerous moves are all done by pullies and harnesses and/or cgi, and every punch and kick thrown misses by a mile and only looks good due to camera placement. Those people are wrong, and the only way to educate them is either breaking their eardrums/thumbs so they know you can't fake pain, or yelling at them via twitter.
