Standing on a hill in my mountain of dreams
I have enough money to fill my tank on a regular basis (usually every two to three weeks) but what's weird is that it seems to fly through the first 3/4 of a tank in no time at all but hover around the 1/4 mark for a very long time.

Costs me about $70 to fill the tank on my sports/luxury vehicle (The Ultimate Driving Machine). I get about the same total millage out of its 16.5 gallon tank of premium as I do out of the 12.5 gallon tank of regular in my Toyota but hey, you dont look as good driving a Toyota

Yeah but I bet all that low end torque comes in real handy for peeling out of the green light.

i never fill up my gas tank up completely in fear of it spontaneously breaking down for good and my conscience being eternally blemished with resentment.

I ditched my Audi because I was sick of it costing ridiculous amounts of money to repair. Cost me about $50 to fill the tank, premium gas, and I'd have to fill it every week at least.

Got a new Mazda, I can go for like a week on $20 and it still looks good because it's a 2015 model. it's almost as fast as my audi was, too. same pick up in the low speeds but the audi beats it out on acceleration after 65mph or so + top speed (but who gives a poo poo).

worth it imo.

its bad to drive all the time with low fuel on modern cars because most rely on high pressure fuel injection but of course you are poor so what am i even saying youre prolly driving an 80s volvo arent you

in that case it is also bad to drive all the time on a 1/4 tank cuz you will be sucking up all the swill/water/debris from the bottom of the tank

also the fuel pump should stay submerged, ideally. if you're driving around with less than half a tank all the time then it is going to break sooner.

Why don't you just fill up once and then full up again when you get to 3/4? Same economics, but you can avoid all the smut collecting at the bottom of your tank.

I should make it clear at this juncture that I always fill it up to the point of spillage, usually before it gets to 1/8 empty.
Plus my preferred gas station beverage is Monster ultra zero.
