FIRST TIME posted:I just re-watched Boyz n the Hood recently and it is kind of like an after school special but not necessarily in a bad way. It was a pretty good balance of "hey, check out this hardcore gangster movie" balanced with some heavy handed talk about gentrification, gender roles, AIDS, drugs, and violence. It helps that it had a lot of very talented actors in it as well. boyz n the hood sucked a fat dong compared to menace ii society hth

I liked it since I never knew about NWA that much and it pretty interesting. The scene where eazy couldnt rap was p. funny also cops were assholes appearantly!??

I know it's a biopic and kinda has to work with what it has, but the film's story and emotional arcs are so all over the place that 2/3 of the way through you start wondering when and how the gently caress the film is gonna come to a satisfying close. thank christ eazy got AIDS or the third act woulda been a total loving misfire
