I just saw this movie for the first time. This is supposed to be a classic?! Our heroes, the main gang, are 2 characters that have been stretched into 4. A crazy abused kid, a level-headed abused kid, a fat loser kid, and a skinny loser kid. They go out looking for the body of a dead kid that some older neighborhood toughs know the locale of. They find it. The neighborhood toughs get there immediately after. For some reason, both groups desperately want to take this dead little bitch. One of the neighborhood toughs pulls out a switchblade, and the skinny loser pulls out a gun. Neighborhood tough backs down, little kids don't take the body anyway, just call it in to authorities. That's it. Nothing really significant happens in the entire movie. I've seen more adventure in an episode of Say Yes to the Dress.

i remember seeing Stand By Me when i was younger but i confused the title with Green Mile the look on my dad's face when i told him that i loved Green Mile because it was a nice, happy movie was priceless
