I have a friend in a wheel chair, born with a weird muscular dystrophy type disease, blamed for all the problems in the family, dad was a vietnam vet that would get drunk and fling by his legs into a wall screaming at him about being worthless. Grandparents are billionaires who hate the parents and pretend my friend doesn't exist because it's embarrassing to them. 20 years later they have another son who is athletic and in perfect health he gets $25k a month as long as he gives none of it to any other family member from his grandparents and will inherent around a billion dollars. Luckily my friend is an attorney and practicing CPA so he's able to ignore his ugly family. Families that setup their kids with trust funds are usually abhorrently terrible people. I was born and raised in Naples FL, I've never met a person from/with real money (worth tens of millions) that I've liked.

oh no its much better to buy them overpriced sweatshop clothing, stolen from the tired hands of exploited workers, so their lovely spoiled classmates will think they are cool for wearing the correct brand of blood clothing  my kids will learn to appreciate the privileges of being able to have clothing at all, and aren't going to be brainwashed little vampires with a corporate morality believe it or not, people who are not rich learn how to love each other despite the labels on their clothing

even as a child i never once hated on anyone because their clothes were less expensive, in fact i grew up respecting their frugality and grounded sensibilities rich kids can be the worst (not always though, sometimes they are wonderful largely because of having a stable and secure home life with all of the comforts and privileges protecting them from the harsh brutality of the real world)

In America do you need to be a millionaire to put money in a fund or something? Because afaik tons of people squirrel away a few hundred or maybe thousands of pounds to get small returns for 18 years, so their kids have something to help with rent deposits or uni fees.
