His American Recording first single was about murdering his fiance, which is kinda interesting given he continued to have great success. Anyways - why do you love Johnny Cah, and what is your favourite late (American Rec.) album of his? Personally I think he got the best ombination of his own talent and guest contribution in American III. He continued to record songs till he died, being blind and immobile, as well as after his wife and his life's love, June, died. He was a real inspirational fucker who didn't give up til death took him.

But it's really sad people prefer that cover over his better songs. I mean it's weird the "God will cut you down" video didn't end up more successful given it featured pretty much every relevant celebrity at the time.
