A Mockumentary is a perfectly acceptable vehicle for humor. This actually makes you think, if the Muppet Show was satirizing or spoofing the variety shows that were so common back then, maybe the fact that a talking frog was probably the most memorable variety show host ever is the reason they're not still around?
