I sure wish there were a clever alternative to looking at your watch during such events.

Goddamn, if only someone would invent a... a mug or something, that tells time.

Could such a thing be possible?

It is! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=97CuAQ_xxM4

I am incredibly stupid
i learnt to read an analogue clock semi-reliably aged about 20 but it still takes me a few seconds

it held me back when they were doing times in language lessons because theyd always use a little cardboard clock so youd have to work out what the clock said and then work out how to say it in whatever language, it was tough let me tell you

I love this watch but never have seen/heard of another. Got it from one of the pilots I worked with in the Marines after I fixed his truck's tailgate.

I got a free alarm clock the other day. its analog and has glowing numbers AND a backlight if you can't read it. It has been getting poo poo on because people don't know how to use it (or put the battery in it that wasn't included). Seriously, gently caress this gay dead forum planet.

It looks like the twine that runs the tuner and dial is going to break because the little indicator is kind of bent to the side. If you do decide to listen to the radio, you will have to probably pick one station.

I've got nearly the same drat radio from somewhere I dunno how and it sits and blinks 12 in the garage because I'm too cheap to put TWO 9 volts in it as backup.

And thats.. the rest of the shitpost.

What's the consensus on seikos and citizens, I considered getting either of those for a while
I wear a Seiko analog watch and I really like it: it's ridiculously durable and looks great, and is appropriate for almost any occasion. It has a stainless steel band, runs on a conventional battery, and IIRC originally cost between $200 and $300 (got it on sale). It still cost more than I'd ever spent on a watch before, but four years later I think it's well worth it.

Seiko and Citizen have great reputations except for their cheapest lines (Alba and Pulsar for Seiko, not sure about Citizen). Citizen's photovoltaic Eco-Drive watches have a lot of fans. Both brands seem to be considered the best non-luxury watches, although they make luxury watches too.
