seriously. you need 60 ppl on a stage to get your jollies, pal? ever hear of overdubbing (idiot)? i guess if you were unfortunate enough to live in a time where music was either a few dozen queers in pantaloons playing for a duke or just one queer in pantaloons with a lute it'd do the trick, but there's absolutely no excuse now. oh yeah man its really cerebral how they have themes that repeat throughout the piece. wait a second nope it just turns out this guy from 400 years ago wrote the same melody 15 times in this 40 minute "song" because no one was going to complain at the time. gotta pad out this concerto somehow or the cardinal won't pay me. don't even get me started on the lyrical content. oh, jesus is cool? wow breaking new ground there handel. you got 100 people singin on stage there? yeah man really killing it with those 5 parts not like a five weird brothers and cousins from california wont blow this poo poo out of the water in the future or anything. people who listen to classical music now are even worse than dummies who listen to classic rock. at least jimmy who's owned a trans am for 30 years isnt going to get all high and mighty over the artistic integrity of def leppard and ac/dc, plus he can slam a natty light like no one's business. even if the people who wrote his favorite songs are dead, he can see a tribute band of people who actually saw the fuckers live. a tribute band for mozart is called the orchestra, and they dress up in gaudy costumes just the same. but i don't have to pay 80 bucks to see The Fortunate Sons blast creedence at rick's tavern on tuesday. i guess the only real comparison is dipshit violinists keep trading the same few hundred violins built by this one family in italy just like the guy who is "slash" in Night Train has a vintage les paul to get the "right tone"

Ork of Fiction posted:"Oh? My favorite author? William Shakespeare." I like the one where they cut out the woman's tongue and then also chop off her hands. It was a really clever and genre-savvy move because they knew if they just cut out her tongue so she can't say their names she'd just write it.

- hans zimmer and other modern "classical" composers never really pulled the heartstrings as much as say beethoven or bach, they mostly just rely on prepackaged chords and sounds that people are liek man this is a movie soundtrack it got to have a lot of cymbals crashing thats classical derrrp - classical surpasses every other musical form for musicality/expressivity except for maybe some types of metal
