Sons of Anarchy is a strong contender even though you have to look at it from S2 to S4. Seasons 1 and 2 are good enough for a dumb biker gang show, then S3 is kind of gimmicky with the Ireland stuff and generally considered the point where the show became bad. Then S4 plunges into the dirt. It features a plotline where one of the gang members agrees to become a police informant and steal cocaine from a Mexican Cartel deal they were setting up, all because the sheriff has information that he's half black and is threatening to out him. The end of the season is actually even worse in an "X was actually working with Y all along!" resolution that carried it into a garbage S5. I stopped watching after that.
