Another day, another sandbox MMO that is a spiritual successor to *insert popular sandbox game from a decade ago*... But this one is different because it's the spiritual successor to a game that never came out, World of Darkness by CCP. quote:Dogma is a massively multiplayer online game (MMORPG) genre sandbox (sandbox), which plunges you into the image of the vampire and talk about the survival of supernatural beings in modern cities. You will become one of the undead and join the large community of inhabitants of the night, hiding behind the scenes of the everyday life of ordinary mortals. quote:

Since I've already thrown $60 at this, if I win something, I'll make this package the community account so non-beta backers can check it out for themselves a bit earlier. If I get in during alpha, I'll document everything thoroughly. Toss em' $25 if you're interested, it's a cool project. You lose nothing if they don't get funded. http://kck.st/1PA0BVc Oh drat, the top prize is personalized content. I'll make you guys part of canon or some poo poo, and instead of having a personal apartment, we'll have a mansion Alexander DeLarge fucked around with this message at 17:08 on Dec 3, 2015 |

Is a Dogmat a Sandbox with fluff instead of sand and a dog sleeping on it?

I was an avid player of "Vampire:the Masquerade" rpg, I'm so pumped for this mmorpg! Let's hope it won't fail to deliver.

I was eagerly awaiting the WoD MMO, and highly disappointed when it was cancelled. I'll be keeping a close eye on this, for sure.

So is this yet another vaporware game that'll never come out, or do they seem to actually have a shot of delivering?

Russian kickstarter vampire MMO. I give it better odds than Revival.

Razakai posted:So is this yet another vaporware game that'll never come out, or do they seem to actually have a shot of delivering? We'll see in October, but they've done a Russian kickstarter and used the funding to buy motion capture hardware (which was my biggest expense/barrier in game development starting out). If they market it correctly and they really improve on the demonstration, I think they have a lot of potential of delivering a decent sandbox experience.

Why cant we have a company out of Bucharest make a vampire MMO, maybe it will be good.

Not getting a vampire MMO out during the height of the vampire craze was a huge mistake by a lot of people, at this point not many people are going to care. Unless it's actually good, but lol.

Well they are literally making a knockoff WoD mmorpg, not just a vampire game. They are just starting with vampires [And humans to some degree]. The Eastern European Game Making lottery almost always hits "massively flawed", but it surprisingly hits "massively interesting" at a decent clip too. Depending on how dedicated they are, it could turn out to be an interesting game. The fact they used Russian funbux campaign to pick up motion capture hardware is a good sign. It seems like they are giving it a serious go at least. e: End of the day I place good money on this being an entertaining train wreck at worst. I was at EVE Fan fest 2012 and sat in the roundtable where they showcased WoD with the Atlanta team (RIP) all there seeming very enthusiastic. Seemed like an awesome concept, and was presented in conjunction with DUST 514 as part of CCP's plan to take over the world of gaming. Glad to see it still in the works.

http://dogma-universe.com/en/2016/04/14/update-16/ Seems to be coming along nicely, love the nickname system they're implementing. OpenGL support is awesome too. Hopefully they'll re-approach Kickstarter when they have a playable demo or some gameplay footage rather than the prototype they showed off.
