Something I just noticed about the collector's edition - anyone know why the girls are all holding lemons in their character art while the guys both have leaves?

Kadokawa publishes a TV Guide-esque magazine weekly that has celebrities hold lemons for the cover picture, like so:

Not sure about the leaves, but I imagine it's a similar reference.

I was looking for this because I just rewatched Disappearance on Christmas Eve. What I noticed this time, more than I have previously, is how finely detailed the minutiae of daily life is animated, like how in almost every scene, when it ends and the characters get up to leave, they carefully construct the framing of each shot so you can see them pick up their bag, sling their jacket over their arm, etc. Or when Kyon is depressed in the alternate world literary club room and there's long shots of him just pacing, doing nothing to advance the plot, but there's real good stomping sounds and him scratching the chair across the floor without sitting it and stuff.

It seems waiting paid off.

Haruhi Season 1&2 alone is $40 on Funimation's site right now, but Yuki Nagato is cheaper at $38 on Amazon. RightStuf had the box set for $75 (individual seasons for $32.50 as some daily sales) but is now sold out.

Season 1&2 $39.99 (DVD $34.99)

Yuki-Chan $37.99

Haruhi-Chan $16.99

The only thing I was disappointed with was the lack of a dub for the Yuki-chan OVA.

I'd like to think that the OP/ED are canon and not that whoever made that is bad at percentages.

That's one of my favourite scenes in the movie. So incredibly awkward and aimless!
The best part is where he makes a full circuit around the entire clubroom in a single cut and nothing loving happens cause duh it's Kyon!

you could binge them even if they uploaded them 'on time' tho

like im tilting at windmills here and i dont think crunchys obviously rushed simulsubs are the solution either but i dont think itd be unreasonable for them to upload new eps within a couple of weeks of them airing in japan. or if you're going to dump the whole thing at once, at least dump all of it, within a couple of weeks of the show finishing, instead of half the show three months after the fact and the other half ???

Yeah, I'm not personally too fussed about getting stuff on time with Netflix, seeing as I have plenty else to watch in the meantime, and I don't have too many friends who bother watching fansubbed stuff, so I don't really have to worry about not being caught up on a show and getting spoiled on it or something like that. That said, that doesn't mean I can't recognise that the way they've been doing things is really silly, and that it's not unreasonable for people to be really annoyed with them.
