News flash: unless you are one of a tiny number of people who somehow works your way in to the popular consciousness or the history books, you will be forgotten as soon as the people who knew you die off, and even those people probably won't spend much time thinking about you after a little while. Absolute best case scenario, maybe it's possible someone will know your name a few thousand years from now. To say we are dust in the wind greatly overstates our individual importance. Our entire species, every single experience of joy and despair the world has ever known, every act of love and hate,, the battles and conquests of nations and empires, the miracles and atrocities we have wrought, the fullness of every human life that ever was or will be - all of that put together fits on a fraction of the surface area of a single dust speck floating in the inconceivable vastness of a cold and unfeeling universe. So learn from Wheez and Nrr, do what makes you happy and never take poo poo too seriously. It's really not worth it. Thermos H Christ fucked around with this message at 22:45 on Dec 14, 2015 |
