She is a cat of significant gravy.
Studies have shown that the concept of the Welfare Queen is purely fiction, yet for decades, politicians have continued to trot out the myth to lure impressionable voters.

That’s exactly why one team of sociologists from the University of California, armed with plenty of sound data and a dream of instilling truth in political discourse, set out to disprove the myth once and for all. But after a lengthy search and a harrowing journey, the team found the elusive Welfare Queen, living in the Appalachian foothills in a palatial manor funded entirely by government handouts.

“We went out hoping to prove beyond a shadow of a doubt that this idea of a Welfare Queen was utterly absurd and not at all based in reality, but then we were able to confirm that there is, in fact, a Welfare Queen,” said lead researcher Michael Cook, who described the Queen’s home as “a shopping-mall-sized expanse of aluminum siding and American flag decor, its immense lawn littered with ceramic toads and decaying autos.” “It turns out she’d been living off the government for years, funding her extravagant lifestyle using government checks that were being sent to her dead husband.”

Amazing!

When Cook and his team finally reached the immense entryway to the Welfare Queen’s palace, they saw 500 men lying prostrate in neatly ordered columns, chanting en masse for the glory of their goddess. Then they saw, seated atop a throne of brand-new iPhones and adorned in the finest of name-brand attire, the fabled Welfare Queen herself!

“It was definitely her, cackling devilishly as she watched The Real Housewives Of Atlanta on one of her many expensive flat-screen TVs afforded to her by government assistance,” Cook explained. “And right behind her we saw about a dozen of her children—sired out of wedlock by a dozen different deadbeat fathers—misbehaving and gorging themselves on high-sodium junk foods purchased with food stamps.”

“Her adoring subjects continued chanting, in voices growing louder and louder, ‘Hosannah to the Empress of Entitlements, the Sovereign of Social Security, the High Priestess of Handouts, the Fairest of Freeloaders,’” added Cook. “They praised all of the Queen’s sacred relics, her Cadillac, her free Medicaid, and her storied EBT card, all while bathing themselves in soda and beer. It was the height of debauchery and opulence.”

Incredible! Now, we can finally put the debate to rest and at last confirm, with full empirical certainty, the existence of the Welfare Queen. Her power is great, and her empire is vast!

It's entirely possible to live completely off of government subsidies indefinitely. See my earlier post in this thread. Housing, income, food, medical and dental, all for free for life, as long as you stay below the median income in your area. (thus incentivizing people never to work to get off of it)

I've researched the topic extensively and know a number of people in AA who do it. I am thinking about doing it myself, particularly b/c alcoholism in remission is considered a disability for which you can receive free money for life.

I'd like to know where this is true, and if so what it takes to get on it, and also do they cover mental healthcare? Because apparently I'm not sick enough to get SSI but at the same time I'm kind of suicidal so lol I need medication but can't get them because no money, so yeah I don't know where I was going with this I'll shut up now sorry

this is true to an extent, except most recipients are too stupid and unaware to realize it or think in these abstract existential terms.

but yeah, it's pretty easy to live fairly well off Uncle Sucker, if you are patient and unscrupulous. Here's how:

1. Disability (income for life once you're on it and easy to defraud to get on it)
2. Section 8 voucher (housing for life once you're on it. don't have to live in "tha projeks" either. can live anywhere.)
3. Medicaid (free health and dental for life)
4. Food stamps (free food for life)
5. Various local charities, food banks, relief funds, etc...

ZERO work required after that.

Edit: In a way, it is better to be poor and smart than it is to be "middle class" and smart. both have roughly the same standard of living, but only the latter requires you to work some pointless job to pay for it.

Yes, you can get SSDI for being a useless drunk. Yes, you can get a couple hundred a month worth of food stamps, and in -some- states there's a functioning Medicaid system that will give you some modicum of health care. But it's a pretty lovely existence, skulking around with barely enough money for necessities, filling out forms and kowtowing to petty government functionaries.

Is that what you aspire to be, a leech who's entire life consists of sucking up -just- enough governmental handouts to survive, barely? 'Cause if that's true, you're doing a disservice to the planet by not just drinking yourself to death.

These are all federal programs, so it shouldn't matter where you live, in theory. However, some states administer the programs more effectively than others.

I didnt say it was easy, i just said its possible and that i know a lot of people who do it.

(As an aside, you're not a very good mental health professional if you are telling someone with a disability (me) to drink themselves to death. what Cracker-Jack College did you get your degree from, hmmm? i got mine from the Ivy League, btw)

For someone with a user name referencing Johnny Thunders, I would think you would be more sympathetic to that lifestyle "choice".

Also, it's not like everyone is a leech. Some people, for example, use the free time to make art or music. It's a sad state of affairs when a brilliant musician can't afford to live, whereas a mediocre/incompetent "businessman" lives comfortably. If they have to game the system to do what they love and are good at, then so be it.
