OP I hope you feel better. In the long run you are probably good knowing yourself and not taking oxy's although when you are actually in pain you don't really enjoy them. Glad you are fixed up. Hope your life is easier now.

The only reason to floss regularly is to trick the hygienist into thinking you floss regularly, but since I never go to the dentist (haven't since 2008 maybe) I don't see the point. I have floss in the cupboard but only use it like once every few months. I do brush almost every day. OP why did you go to the dentist in the first place, were you in pain? My teeth feel, smell, and generally look fine, and now I'm worried I might have 25 festering cavities I don't know about.

I knew of a dentist in Seattle my idiot boss went to who would knock out patients with gas before their cleanings, because they had too much anxiety to just let the dentist clean their mouths like a normal person. It cost a lot extra, but can you put a price on good dental hygiene? I guess it's not a rhetorical question for you because of the 13k Also don't eat the OP, Alf avatar

With dentures you have relearn to speak and eat. I sound stupid. Brush fake teeth yes.

(you also shouldn't use 3 percent everyday as it might weaken enamel).

Floss pickers like Plackers or the Reach flosser brush are way better and easier to use frequently than tape. Wrapping tape around my fingers was so tedious it put me off flossing so I would only do it once a month or so, now I floss every 2 days. Tape is so arcane and superceded I don't know why its even still exists (besides the thick Oral B superfloss), it's like selling a toothbrush without a handle. Would you clean your teeth holding just the brush head up in your mouth? Also tongue cleaning is important too. Quit using your toothbrush and buy an Ora-Brush, they're the best tongue cleaners on the planet.

Replaced my jaw with a carbon fiber jaw with titanium supports. I can chow through pop rocks like they are nothing. I used to love the dentist when I was a kid, because my dentist was awesome. He was just an all around great guy, gentle and patient. But, he retired when I was in my early 20s, and the guy who replaced him, on my first visit hurt me so bad, I didn't go back to the dentist for 10 years. I went from loving to go, having two visits a year and no cavities to where I am now -- needing to be gassed and now with 8 cavities/fillings. All that despite brushing/flossing without visits. I still worry that I'll need to get teeth removed because of the time I missed due to visits. I'm sorry, OP -- that sucks. At least you got it taken care of. I see people all the time who just don't... This does remind me I need to make a dental appointment though.
