Hell, Im surprised they waited 4 episodes to bring Holt back to the Nine Nine. They had Jake back one episode into season 2 despite the deep undercover setup that ended season 1. When cast chemistry is one of the primary strengths of a show, I dont really see the benefit of breaking up the characters for extended periods of time.

Where were you raised" was the highlight of the episode. this was amazing. I rewound it a few times. So good. I also think Chelsea is amazing and I want to track down a Gina Told You So shirt, for me, a grown man.

Beeper King and Rafi are my two favorite TV characters but I don't want to see them every week and if I do, for no more than a random line

I have to admit, I never thought I would enjoy anything more than Holt and Peralta sparring with each other. I was wrong. Holt and Peralta as frenemies/allies/whatever is the best thing ever. It's like the odd couple, but somehow even odder because both Braugher and Sanberg both commit 100 percent to their respective roles.

Agreeing with the sentiment that it felt pretty forced, but it's good to have Holt back. The first part of this season felt really disjointed with the "new captain" schtick, so hopefully the show is back to normal (that ep ruled so I'd think thats the case). I can't wait for the Halloween episode!

They did a really good job showing what assholes Jake and Holt were for excluding Amy from the heist. Here are the two men in her life that matter to her most, the man she admires and the man she loves, and those reasons are making them exclude her. Everyones costumes in the cold open. Amy in what was clearly a costume she stole from the year she helped Santa at Macy's and Diaz as Little Bo peep. Though nothing beats Terry as Popeye.

Has anyone else noticed striking similarities between Brooklyn Nine-Nine and Archer? There are many near character matches (Cyril/Boyle, Cheryl/Gina), but Jake is straight up Archer.

Jake generally isn't a huge rear end in a top hat, he isn't a womanizer or alcoholic, nor particularly violent. He's overconfident, charming, and wings things a lot are the only real similarities I see.
