cremnob posted:tom's hardware did a test and found the sarnsung chip to be better lol yeah i trust them to do a good test but also the final section is 100% true, you won't know if the processor is even the power draw difference in a test like this because you might be seeing a phone with a power hungry display or one with a better battery, let alone the difference in the socs its meaningless when the sample size is 1 samsung and 1 tsmc and the only people who know the actual performance mean and distribution of the two chips is apple. tamc probably doesnt even know if the samsung chip is better and vice versa, unless apple is shaming one of them and telling them they're a bad soc maker, and apple is probably telling tsmc the samsung chip is better and telling samsung tue tsmc chip is better.

didn't read the link but are they measuring the amount of work accomplished or just how much battery life you get when you burn cycles in a loop? because the latter is a meaningless garbage measurement.
