They get a single attempt to offer a fix or have to offer a full refund. You are deluded if you think that chris roberts is capable of fixing the game in one patch.

This isn't how this works. You can't pass a law and make something retroactively illegal. Your rights as a consumer depend on what the law was when you bought the item. Plus even if you did buy under the new law you'd have a very hard time forcing them to give you a refund because it's all about customer knowledge and expectations. If I sell you a car and I say "it's got this dent" and you buy it, you can't take it back because of the dent. If I say "it's got this dent" and then it turns out it has no engine you can get a refund because of the lack of engine. So if I "sell" you a ship for a game on the basis that it may never be made, and it's basically a risk on your behalf, then you can't get a refund because the game doesn't come out. The new law just basically says this is about what a "reasonable" person would expect. If you ask a "reasonable" person what they expect from star citizen they will say "lol that's never coming out" It's almost like you know nothing about consumer law but felt the need to just blurt out what you thought anyway as if it was a fact.
