I had it for a torn lateral meniscus when I was 18, my knee was in unbearable pain beforehand, surgery went fine, had to wear a leg brace for 6 weeks, knee was 100% better afterwards. I had no idea it was controversial in any way until I saw this thread, I have nothing but good things to say for it.
