As you get older you tend to have more to lose. In those cases fear becomes much easier to sell. You'll notice conservatives almost never have any real facts behind them and their big proclamations never pan out. This is because the entire ideology is based on fear and especially when things are looking bleak these days, it sells real well.

You really learn there are no good guys and life is truly a road to hell paved with good intentions and gaping b holes. And only then have you achieved awareness as the goatman has.

i think a lot of white millenials go full bore fascist because despite trying to be generally inoffensive and supportive of identity politics they've been told that they're oppressors and always have been & always will be its kind of a self fulfilling prophecy

I know quite a lot people who aren't necessarily on the right wing but really like to spout rascist and homophobic bullshit whenever it's possible, with nice dash of "politically incorrect" humour. They all like anime and jrpgs so that's a nice correlation too

imagine if Pepsi just stopped advertising altogether and Coke doubled their advertising and then the Pepsi company came out publicly and said that they are gonna be just like Coke, and that people that want Pepsi are dumb basically and that they are not gonna try to get any new non-soda drinkers to become Pepsi customers, they are only going to try to steal existing Coke customers and then some people that said they loved Pepsi started doing incredibly retarded poo poo in public like yelling at an important scientist for wearing a shirt with women on it and accusing white women with cornrows of "appropriating culture" whatever that dumbshit means meanwhile Coke is advertising like crazy with tons of commercials and poo poo and NFL sponsorships and they are always trying to make exactly what their customers want, while always reaching out to new non-soda drinkers to try and make them new customers Pepsi is the Democrats and Coke is the Republicans.

I had another group of friends, like my book club, that were slowly turning right wing. But then we went swimming in my pool, which has a cocoon, and their political opinions changed back to the ones they had when they were young. So OP, I suggest going swimming in a cocoon pool. I tried to get my book club to do it, but its hard because books can't get wet!

Has anyone else noticed that the more a person is exposed to the real world the less they think like they did when they were in college? It's weird Also umm in Europe our Democrats would be far right fascists, so really we have no liberal party, I don't know if you know this but I do. I know a lot about these things.

There are a bunch of people who are pretending to be liberal because that's what they're "supposed to do," except then they get to be adults and care a lot less about what other people think. Given the choice between an ideology that says you're wrong and should feel guilty, and an ideology that says that you're OK, most people are going to pick the latter every single time.
