"Yes, I intentionally look for things to scare me! I don't find enough things that are already terrifying in, say, the news. I feel no need to compound my real fears with fake ones because, well, I don't really have any real fears. In my experience, the world is a kind, safe place that just needs, y'know, a little goosing now and then. I do love a good fright!" -a babby

Good horror is about uneasiness slowly creeping around you like bugs that you can't see or feel, but they're there.

You're talking about scary. Scary is lame.

Horror movies are really comedy movies, you watch them and practically everything that happens you're like "wtf are you doing that for you idiot?".

Pretty much this, you can laugh and shake your head at the antics of dumb assholes getting what they deserve without getting guilt tripped by idiots you know that would run to the basement during a flash flood.

Horror doesn't necessarily mean scary to the viewer.

Ravenous is one of my favorite films and a horror, but in no way is it scary for someone watching. I also liked You're Next and The Thing, neither of which felt threatening "to me" as an audience member, it's more like a film where a lot of people are guaranteed to be under absurd stress.

Cancer doesn't go away after two hours. Nobody would want to watch a horror movie that goes on for 3 years and then kills you.

Plus back in the 80s it was the easiest porn to get if you were a teenager. Titties used to be more of a novelty.

Ravenous is about self-sacrifice and men wanting to touch each other in the Pants Area, whereas You're Next is about how women are routinely underestimated while men are huge weenies, and The Thing is about testing a parameter space with limited resources.

Best part of that movie was when the lonely nerd upgraded his sex bot and the sex bot kicked Jason's rear end.

The part after that where the computer just upgraded him for no real reason was a really unrealistic part of this movie about an immortal zombie in space, imo.
