That extra width on the Yukon/Escalade/Tahoe makes a sizable difference inside versus the Trailblazer platform.

Two weeks of looking within a ~300 mile radius (partially, I won't buy anything from Michigan/Northern Ohio/Pennsylvania because of rust. Also, nothing from DC area North because I've never had any luck buying anything from there, everything seems to have been... accident prone) and no Escalade luck. So with Escalades, the RWD come with the 5.3 instead of the 6.0 that's standard in the AWD. In 2004, captains chairs in the second row became much more common, maybe standard. So I'd like an '04-06 AWD. Sunroof is a significant bonus. Under 120k miles is a must. $12k is the top of what I'd spend. Any more than that, and I'd look at '07+, but I just don't want to spend that kind of cash. So options have been sparse. Still looking, something will turn up. Same situation I was in with the Envoy before it popped up. I'm kinda regretting not buying it back and just half-assing it together. meatpimp fucked around with this message at 23:18 on May 27, 2016 |

Plenty down here, although not many AWD....What's wrong with 2WD? With some good tires and traction control it should be fine in the winter right? Also I think you're a bit hung up on the mileage, I don't think you're gonna get the mileage you want for your budget. http://fortmyers.craigslist.org/col/cto/5562511789.html http://orlando.craigslist.org/cto/5599580953.html http://fortmyers.craigslist.org/lee/cto/5606401979.html Applebees Appetizer fucked around with this message at 23:21 on May 27, 2016 |

RWD is fine, but you give up the sweet, sweet LQ9. But hey, if I want to go RWD, I can get a West Coast Customs Escalade : http://atlanta.craigslist.org/nat/cto/5591761655.html meatpimp fucked around with this message at 23:33 on May 27, 2016 |

Oh I see. Well if you want one without rust you know where to come, the drive back would be nothing in an Escalade. Also the rich people down here (and there's lots of them) take really good care of their luxury cars, it's pretty easy to find immaculate high mileage examples on the coasts of Florida. [edit] lol west coast customs, bet that was a great "investment"

I find tons of them with 170k+ (sometimes +++, I've seen 290k miles on an '03 ), so I know that they run for loving ever, since they are just gussied-up GM trucks. But, resale is huge up here for low miles. And Rust-Free is a huge selling point, too... I'll keep looking in FLA.

Afaik they came with the same 6.0 as the escalade as long as it was the Denali trim. Also I have 240k on my 03 'burban and my in laws have 240k on their 04. They are solid trucks indeed. but now they are looking for a newer one. I have heard about paint issues on the 07-14 generation trucks, or sheet metal issues, k ow anything about that?

Yukon Denalis have been on my list, but it seems like the Escalades are easier to find (lol) with lower miles. I am calling someone in South Carolina tomorrow, may make a deal and fly/drive back. I don't know about post-'06 GM. Keep in mind that you're right in the economic meltdown period for the automakers, and along with that, the actual workers. What I've seen is that there are fewer '07-'10 trucks for sale, but I don't know if that's reflective of production numbers. Paint issues wouldn't surprise me, but I don't have any knowledge of such.
