also those occasional thirty second breaks on hulu are your episodic reminder to pack a bowl/ pour a drink/ take a piss while reflecting on the show so far

Why are you listing CW shows as a benefit of Hulu Plus when you can get them for free on their website with no ads?

I mean, Hulu is looking better than it ever was right now and has always had the Criterion Collection so it isn't bad or anything, but network TV is not exactly what people look for in choosing their streaming services.

definitely better quality and less buffering. too bad most of amazons bundled with prime series, shows, movies, etc are hot garbage. the good stuff needs to be rented on their prime service.

I don't get what is good about Hulu, it has ads and lovely shows that I could have watched live anyway? Or "downloaded"?

Netflix has more exclusive content than leeching off existing networks, so I am happy to invest in them so they can invest in awesome stuff like House of Cards.

gently caress adverts.

nothing, all antennas are digital now since all over-the-air channels are digital too. people of a certain age still refer to them as such because we remember when there was a difference.

apparently shows are expensive or something
To make a pilot episode of something it can cost $250 million and it might not even get picked up. If Netflix likes your pitch they'll ask you how many episodes you want to make without you even making a pilot.

Netflix and it's ilk will destroy cable television once people stop paying for 900 channels that they don't even watch.

And to be super fair to Netflix I don't think their "we'll turn basically anything into a netflix series just ask us politely" policy has really bit them on the rear end yet.

House of Cards, Orange is The New Black, Bojack Horseman, Daredevil, and Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt are all fantastic. Hell Daredevil is one of the best reviewed "tv" shows of 2015.

Yeah with Showtime that inflates quickly to $21/month. At that point you've basically consigned yourself to buying a' la carte cable at nearly the same price as just getting the drat box.
